Fishing Report
Fishing is very slow all around Lake Almanor.
However, I found two locations that if you want
to put the time in, you will catch fish. The majority
of the fish are very good quality and size.
The two locations that I have caught fish are from Big
Springs to Big Cove and from Big Cove to the "A" Frane.
Try to stay in 40 to 50 feet of water. Down riggers should
be 10 to 15 feet from the bottom. Run your lead core from
three to five colors out. This allows you to troll different
depths.
The prefered bait is night crawlers or imitation pond smelt.
Put the lures away because the fish are very lethargic in that
they are trying to find cold water to survive.
If you are at Lake Almanor and need fishing tacke, I suggest
you go to Big Cove. They have everything you need and their
prices are better than anyone else in the area.
